Early Life

Archie McPatton was born in 1965 in Yonkers, New York. One of seven children, he was the son of Miles McPatton, a Korean War veteran, and Darlene Potts McPatton, an enormous housewife. In school, he was a frustrated athlete. "When I took to the field, even the cheerleaders started booing," McPatton recalled in his 2005 book Shut Up and Be Quiet. "I soon realized that if I was ever going to be successful, I would have to systematically destroy other people's lives." After attending college, where he majored in communications, McPatton began a series of internships at radio and television stations, leading to to career in broadcasting.

The McPatton Thing and Fuck You

The McPatton Thing premiered in 2004, often providing a soapbox for Bush campaign surrogates and conservative groups such as Homeless Veterans for Bush and ECPOO. Other frequent guests included right-wing columnist Amy Keeler and cable television mogul Pubert Gristle.

Even in the current media climate, McPatton's rhetoric was considered too abrasive for mainstream audiences. After widespread complaints about several of McPatton's more pointed statements, The McPatton Thing was cancelled in 2008. The same year, McPatton returned with a new program, Fuck You with Archie McPatton. Unlike The McPatton Thing, which featured one guest per episode, Fuck You has McPatton moderating panels of experts and commentators. Frequent panelists include Amy Keeler and Ralph Piss.

Controversial statements

Throughout his career, McPatton has been the subject of harsh criticisim for a seemingly endless number of controversial statements.

  • In his 2005 book Shut Up and Be Quiet, McPatton wrote, "The liberal Democrats would like nothing more than for your money to be spent on ignorant poor people, your God to be removed from the heavens, and your daughter to be molested by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed."
  • On The McPatton Thing in April of 2006, McPatton told a caller, "You're not fit to live in society, pal. You should go live in a hole with the Muslims. You'd be into that; they like anal."
  • On The McPatton Thing in September of 2006, McPatton said that "9/11 wouldn't have even happened if we had done the right thing and made it illegal for chicks to have jobs."
  • In a 2007 interview with Mopsy Jimenez-Tippington, McPatton said, "If Hillary Clinton becomes the next president, basically Hitler will be in the White House."
  • On Fuck You with Archie McPatton in 2008, McPatton explained the demise of The McPatton Thing: "I made a few remarks on the Thing that weren't quite P.C. enough, know what I mean, for the tofu-stuffed Communists who are the left-wing liberal media elite. I'm talkin' about my country here!"
