Khalid Shiekh Mohammed

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is an international terrorist and key leader of al Qaeda from the late 1990s until his capture by Pakistani intelligence agents in 2003, at which point he was transferred to American custody. He has confessed to the Richard Reid shoe bombing, the Bali nightclub bombing in Indonesia, and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The 9/11 Commission described him as "the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks," and he has confessed to this as well. He is also thought to have played a key role in the failed 2002 attack on the U.S. Bank Tower in Los Angeles, the failed bombing of American Airlines flight 63, the failed Millennium Plot, and the murder of Daniel Pearl.
